Great American Train Show (GATS) - July, 2001 - Grand Rapids, Michigan

This is the first show the Shell Station was in, where we ended up winning first place. : ) Here are some pictures, click on the thumbnails to bring up a larger picture if you so desire.

Here is a picture of the station being built, it is mostly completed at this point. Here is a side shot of the station, when the show just started. Here is the back of the station, where the diesel pumps are for the semi-trucks. This is an overview shot of the carwash, where you can see most of the features.
This is a close-up shot of the carwash, and some of the finer details. Here is the Scott and Lynn mini-figs, strolling nearby, as the Shell person uses the dumpster. 

You never know when those Rebel Scum try to take your ice, always be on guard. You can see the Polar Ice machine and the stickers, which is a local vendor around Indiana and Michigan.

This is Jason Spear's picture. It is a great shot of the side of the station, where you can see the Shell sign, and some other interesting details. Here is a backside shot, showing the dumpster and the diesel side. Here is an amusing shot of a tear down. Lynn, my wife is on the left, I am on the right, while Amy Hughes and Kristin Bliss help. Jason Spears is imitating Godzilla on top of the table.  Here is me, working hard on setting up the Semi's for the Diesel pumps.  Here is another good side shot of the station.

Here is a good shot of the Shell Station sign, there are 4 around the station. Here is a good shot of the parking lot and the fuel tanks. You can see the Shell Truck filling up one of them, as well as some of the drainage areas. Here is a good shot of the car wash, along with the phone booth, vacuum, and some other details. Here is a good shot of the Polar Ice machine, looks like the Rebel Scum overtook the Stormtrooper and took the ice!

Here is a good shot of the pumps and the front of the station. Looks pretty busy, must be a Mountain Dew sale of something! Here is near the front of the pumps. You can see the sign and the awning.  Here is a good shot of the dumpster, looks like getting rid of the Mountain Dew boxes. Here is a good shot of the Semi's fueling up for another long haul!

Looks like a fresh shipment of Mountain Dew arrived just in time! Amy and myself are in a neck to neck race to see who can finish off their area first! Here is a shot of the back of the station without any vehicles.! Here is the front of the station before vehicles.

Interesting shot of the station while Amy is pounding the elevator into working condition. Very nice overall shot of the Shell Station here. Here is the back section where the diesel pumps are. I think Tony Hedglen is in the background here. Here is the other side of the station, with the ever-present Weinermobile!

Here are the semi's fueling up. Keep em' rolling! Here is a nice shot of the fuel area and the shop. A lot of nice details here, the stickers for no smoking, the pumps, and the canopy lights.  Here is an overall shot from the back. Looks like the crowd is starting to show up! : )
