LEGO SHELL STATION STATUS- 04/29/2001

Now I started planning for the canopy and the store details. The canopy was a real hard time to figure out, I kept changing the size, I am still not very happy with it.

Here are some pictures, single click on the thumbnail for a larger picture (in a new window) .

Here is a view of the canopy. I am using the standard baseplate, with the two high brick format awning, that is yellow, and red trim on the bottom, to match the real station. I will put some tiles on top or something, with drainage holes as well.
Here is the supports for the canopy, in which I had 4 contact points to hold it, namely 4 1x2 plates on the outside, and the rest 2x2 tiles. It was very unstable when I had 4 separate poles, so I made a brick/plate beam to connect two of them, and it is better.
Here is where the store and the canopy meet, the driveway, from the entrance. I wanted to put parking spaces in front of the store, but since I am running out of room, they are omitted. It has enough room for a sidewalk and two cars to pass through, and I think that will  be enough for now. The different color of bricks on the right is a layout for the store.
Finally, here is the rough layout of the store. The doors in the far left corner will be the drink coolers, the doors  on the bottom right will be the bathrooms. I am not sure how to make them solid, as opposed to having windows in them. This will be covered with a regular baseplate, and I will be adding numerous AC units and the like, as well as the red slope flare that matches the gas station, with the yellow awning and red trim as well.
