EVENTS TRAIN STATION WAS IN:

Great American Train Show - Novi, Michigan - January 2002

This is the first official show the train station was at, and it was the biggest display MichLUG / MichLTC has ever attempted. It was a whopping 20x60, complete with a kids building area, demonstrations, etc. It was a fun time, but it was a hard show. We had 3 / 4 people crowding around the tables at all times, along with a lot of setup problems. The tables we used were from the show itself, and they were not even, so I had a lot of problems with the station. We learned a lot from this show, and did a lot between this show and the next in July of 2002.

This is an interior shot before we put the train station in place. This is where the office is. Here is the other side, with a sitting area beneath the monorail stop. Here is an overall shot of the area, with my Shell Station and the Train Station. We had a rather large layout.  Here is my corner of the layout.
Here is the back of the station, you can see the amount of people we had all weekend.  Here is the whole station. Here is a shot of the neighborhood, the visitor center by Garry Stahl, and the tank by David Kohrman.

This is the Doodlebug model by Larry P. Amy Hughes got a great shot of this by the station. Here is the close up of the station's back side, where the trains enter and exit. You can see the walkway and the service entrances. Uh-oh, train is coming through! Here is a shot of the front windows, where there is a nice waiting area. You can also see the monorail entrance.

This is the shot that caused me to build a solid foundation for my train station. You can see the crack caused by the tables and their unevenness. This is a great shot of the canopy. Here is another of my favorite pictures. This shot is an overall of the station. What is Tony doing back there? Another overall shot of the station, showing off the glass roof.  Here is the side, where the trains enter, and the security entrance.

Here is another overall shot of my area.  Another split shot of my area.  Here are Larry's Doodlebugs. Looks like a good place to put them! : ) Here is a good shot of the canopy area. You can see the traffic goes one way around, as do airport roads.
