The TPA government was organized into 2 branches, but since the influx of new people and cities in the last several months, districts have been added, and general elections for the third branch, legislative, will be in place soon.
The three branches are Judicial, Executive, and Legislative, all controlled by the TPA Constitution, ratified a few months before, and amended.
The Judicial Branch serves as the administrators of the Court system, and handles all civil and criminal activities in the TPA. From the TPA Supreme Court to the respective area courts, all citizens are under AP guidelines and rights.
The Legislative Branch makes all the new laws and controls the financial controls of the TPA government, They also control various TDF financial affairs, and have many discussions with TDF leaders. They also distribute various block grants for various activities, such as Law Enforcement divisions, education, and other bodies.
The Executive branch consists of three members of the TPA Council, which control various facets of the TPA. Due to the exponential growth incurred over the last few months, some duties might be assigned to new positions, such as Cabinet positions. There has been some talk of disbanding the council and becoming a president / vice president structure instead, and it is unclear if that will take place or not.
As the TPA continues to expand, the government will get more organized and become more efficient. The last few months were not too good in that regards.
Current TPA Council:
The TPA Council is elected every two years. The people that are elected will decide who will be the President of the Council. Within the next few months, with new districts being formed, the council will be developed into a body of representatives, and the TPA Council will be reformed into a President, Vice President, and Leader of the Representatives. The TPA Councils power is outlined in the TPA Charter of Constitution, as voted and amended last year.
President of the Council: Larry McNichols Age: 59
Larry McNichols has had a distinguished career in public service. After graduating from the UEA Civil Service Academy for Law Enforcement, located in Australia, he moved up the ranks of a police officer on Terra's moon city Armstrong, and was eventually Chief of Police. He signed up for colony Law Enforcement soon after his retirement, and became one of the Council members of the new colony on Titanian 6. Larry has never been married, and has no surviving members of his family.
Council Member: Barbara Dannins Age: 38
Barbara Dannins had a distinguished career in the ADF as a Medical Staff Head Nurse, reaching the rank of Commander, before her discharge after a disabling injury in the Unitron Civil War. Her ship, the Medical Frigate Mercy, was attacked by rebel forces, and she was severely wounded, with back and leg injuries after a steam line exploded in her office. After her retirement from the ADF Medical Core, she signed up for Colony duty, and was granted the Titanian 6 medical services area. She was elected to the TPA Council soon afterwards. She is a widow because of the Exodus war, and all of her children were killed on the attack of Terra.
Council Member: Gary Hughes Age: 36
Gary Hughes is a experienced person in terms of running businesses. His family started Star Cruise Lines, Inc. in the Terran System, and he learned a great deal on how to run profitable businesses that continued in the long haul. After graduating high school, he applied and was accepted into the ADF Advanced Engineering Program, but he quickly grew tired of military life, and left the service after two years. He went to business school at California North University, and got his MBA in business. He started a import / export company that specialized in fast, safe, and effective delivery of specialty cargo, from animals to various chemicals. His business had no ties to his parents one outside of doing their special delivery requirements. Today, Hughes Specialty Transport, Inc. is one of the premiere transport companies, running against big names such as Universal Postal Service. The reason he decided to move to Titanian 6 was the expansion of routes to the M-Tronian Republic, and new opportunities there. He started his new branch when the Exodus War started, and he lost most of his business. Since his election to the Titanian 6 Council, he has been working hard on developing a good model for the government to follow, as well as trying to get his former business started. He is not married, and lost all of his family members in the Exodus War.
