How I Build Official Lego Models

Everyone has their own way of building official LEGO® models. Some build right out the box, some try to build based on the picture, etc. I have heard many over the years. However, this is how I build them. Click on the pictures for a larger picture.

OK, here is a 7130 Star Wars Snowspeeder, an excellent set. I usually have one of my favorite beverages (Right now it is Code Red from Mountain Dew) and some great music playing, such as Carman, Michael W. Smith, ApologetiX, D.C. Talk, etc. These all help the building process.
Here is the start, I usually see what is in the box, what I might need to throw out, etc. This set is straight forward, I love that 6x16 plate.
Here is what I do when I build sets, I sort out the parts. Some people think it is a waste of time, but I feel that it is a worthwhile endeavor, since I can't stand looking for pieces. I try to sort by categories, to speed up the process. It can take a long time though, on a bigger set, but I think you save time by not looking for parts.
Here we are, all finished. Now to file away the instructions, and to find those pesky Imperial AT-AT's.
